Follow Rupert Campbell-Black and Tony Baddingham as they have a long-running rivalry that comes to a head. Coincidentally, Aidan Turner has previously filmed at Chavenage House (The Priory in Rivals). The same location was also used to represent Trenwith House in the BBC’s 2015 TV adaptation of Poldark. I laugh at some of the reviews, clearly from readers who take themselves far too seriously. This is a Jilly Cooper adaptation. This is not a show to intellectualise or judge morally. It’s so much fun. Great casting. Yes, RCB’s hair and eyes are the wrong colour. And is Taggies’ hair. But they work. In your way. RCB will be disappointed some for that. But Alex Hassell captures everything else about him. Danny Dyer is perfect. David Tennant is EXCELLENT as always. And Aidan Turner is simply magnificent, if a little young to play Declan. It falters a bit in the last third. But yeah. It’s fabulous entertainment. I watched the whole thing in one go.
